I was just discussing the program for our only Casey Summit this year with David Galland, and he seemed really pumped. The list of confirmed speakers has grown substantially, now including Alex Jones, Mish Shedlock, David Tice, John Mauldin, and many more, in addition to the usual suspects and the Casey Brain Trust. It’s looking like it will be a great show.
But between us, I usually have more fun talking with readers than with the bigwigs. I know it sounds like flattery, but it is a fact that our readers tend to be cut from a different cloth from most investors… a much more interesting cloth. I just like having dinner with readers who’ve become friends over the years, or coffee with new readers who have good questions and ideas to discuss.
I’m especially looking forward to this year’s conference because I do think our market is turning, and I’m very excited about the years to come. Since I’m sure we’ll be visiting the Alamo, I’m thinking that “Remember the Alamo!” may take on a new, much happier meaning for us in the future.
Meanwhile, Jeff Clark has brought us an extraordinary interview this week, not from one of the usual suspects at all. With Russia in the news so much these days, it was high time we looked into Russia and gold.
I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did.

P.S. Speaking of David Galland, when we conversed, he was happy as a clam, ensconced in scenic Cafayate, Argentina. You can follow his adventures in the unique community he and Doug Casey have built there on his new Facebook blog. Whether you're curious about life in Salta, or just miss David's writing in these dispatches, I encourage you to give it a read; he's always got something interesting, entertaining, or both to say.
