The genesis of Casey Research began with

While earlier stage companies can carry a higher degree of risk, and so therefore are not for everyone, for active investors with the net worth that allows for speculation, the Alert services can offer exceptional returns.
The Alert services focus on very early stage and often thinly traded companies -- or even private placements with extremely limited availability. As such, we are forced to cap the total number of subscribers allowed requiring a higher subscription fee to off-set the considerable research costs associated with uncovering the extraordinary opportunities covered by the Alert services.
Our premium Alert services (Casey Investment Alert and Casey Energy Confidential) often include recommendations for companies that are very early-stage, and therefore have a very small market capitalization. Exposing too many subscribers to the recommendation at the same time can drive the shares much higher, turning an opportunity into a hazard.
