Interview
XL: What was your first resource company?

The first was Equinox Resources Ltd., which did its IPO in 1985, raising a grand total of $110,000.Equinox was a great learning experience, with most of that experience coming as a result of trial and error. It was a lot of hard work and a bit of luck. After nine years of asset-building, the company had the good fortune to be acquired by a major in 1994 for $107 million. At the time of the sale, we had two producing gold mines and one producing zinc mine.
